Star Alliance members Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines All Nippon Airways & SWISS are offering a premium economy deal from Stockholm to Tokyo starting at just SEK 11,766 (~€1,095). This deal includes 2×23 kg checked luggage. Departures are available between January and June, with some dates in September and October, and a lot of availability in November.
Our availability calendar highlights all possible flight dates at the lowest prices for trips of up to 28 days. It will direct you to Lufthansa or Skyscanner with your selected flight dates. From there, you can check what OTAs have to offer.

Flights usually connect through Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, or Vienna (depending on the booked airline), but on many dates, you will be able to fly non-stop from Stockholm with ANA. If you are not flying ANA and your final destination is Tokyo Haneda, you will fly with Lufthansa on the newer A350 (2-3-2 configuration) from Munich or the older Boeing 747 (2-4-2 configuration) from Frankfurt. If it’s Tokyo Narita, you will fly with SWISS or Austrian on their Boeing 777 with a 2-4-2 configuration.
While Lufthansa offers one of the most comfortable seats in premium economy, ANA’s famously good board service (and the fact that it’s non-stop) might give the Japanese airline the edge if both are available. You can check out our review of Lufthansa’s premium economy here and read a review about ANA here. If you don’t like shell seats, avoid SWISS or Lufthansa’s new A350 Allegris cabin.
Most European passport holders can spend up to 90 days in Japan visa-free.
Search & Book
This deal does not have an expiration date, but a minimum stay of six days (or a Sunday) and a maximum stay of twelve months applies. Departures are available between January and June, with some dates in September and October, and a lot of availability in November.
You can find suitable dates using our calendar above or with the help of Google Flights. We recommend booking directly on Lufthansa’s website, but you can find cheaper prices with Skyscanner. However, booking on OTAs has its downsides.
Editor’s Note: if this offer were from Berlin, I would be booking it right away for my 15th trip to Japan. Considering that you can get non-stop flights with ANA in premium economy on certain dates and arrive at Haneda Airport, this is an excellent deal.

Information & Tips for Tokyo
Tokyo is known for its blend of traditional and modern attractions, including the historic Senso-ji Temple, the bustling Shibuya Crossing, and the futuristic Odaiba district. The currency used is the Japanese yen (JPY), and credit cards are widely accepted in many places. Tokyo can be expensive, especially for accommodation and dining in tourist areas, but budget options are available. The weather varies: summers are hot and humid, while winters are cold but generally dry. The best times to visit are in spring (for cherry blossoms) and autumn (for mild temperatures).
